It’s National Reading Month!

March 11, 2025

Are you an avid reader? Then you’ll be excited to celebrate National Reading Month with us this March. National Reading Month was created to encourage people of all ages to read. It kicks off on March 2, which happens to be Dr. Seuss's birthday!

If your home were a book, what would the title be? Our heating and cooling experts are having a little fun honoring National Reading Month, and we are answering this question! With apologies to Dr. Seuss, here are some hypothetical books we’d consider writing if we could publish a book!

HVAC Book: Fix Your Air with Skill and Flair

Book Synopsis: To maintain a comfy home, you need cool indoor air in the summer and cozy warmth in the winter. In this novel, we share our top tips for ensuring quality indoor comfort throughout every season.

Highlights include:

  • Importance of Scheduling an Annual HVAC Tune-up
  • How to Change Your Air Filters
  • Understanding Your Smart Thermostat
  • How to Know When to Call for HVAC Service (Some hints: If your system makes noises, smells odd, cycles on and off, or doesn’t provide even comfort throughout your home, it’s time to call us.)

Plumbing Book: Plumbing Woes and How They Go!

Book Synopsis: This book is flush with everything you’ve ever wanted to know about solving home plumbing issues. Is the toilet running constantly? We’ll teach you how to change the flapper. Are drains smelly and clogged? Learn how baking soda and vinegar are a natural solution to freshening up a drain!

Other important chapters include:

  • Why Is My Water Bill So High? (Often, a leaky toilet makes your water tank run and drives up your water bill.)
  • When to Call a Plumber for Drain Cleaning Service (Foul odors are often a sign of clogs. Call us!)
  • Why Is My Faucet Leaking? (Most likely, this is due to a worn-out washer or a faulty handle.)

Indoor Air Quality Book: To Breathe with Glee, Clean the Air You See!

Book Synopsis: We spend nearly 90% of our time indoors, so breathing clean air is critical. In this best-seller, we discuss how pollutants, contaminants, and allergy triggers can be eliminated by installing an indoor air quality system.

Topics covered include:

  • What are MERV ratings? (MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value and measures how effective air filters work.)
  • Can I install an indoor air quality system into my HVAC system? (Yes.)
  • How often do I need to change my air filters? (Every three months.)

Water Heater Book: No Worry, Worry – Hot Water in a Hurry

Book Synopsis: This title can be considered a sequel to the popular Plumbing Woes and How They Go! Our skilled plumbers focus on the following topics:

  • Hot water heater maintenance (We recommend getting a flush each year.)
  • Pros and cons of tankless versus traditional water heaters
  • Proper temperature settings of water heaters (According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the ideal hot water temperature is 120 degrees.)
